These are archived police scanner clips of Indiana University Police (IUPD) and Indiana State Police (ISP) and their interactions with pro-Palestinian protestors at the encampment at Dunn Meadow at Indiana University. The clips begin April 25, 2024 and extend to April 30, 2024. During those 5 days, police activity was at its most intense, and IUPD and ISP conducted two raids of the Liberated Zone, arresting 55 protestors. Raids were conducted with full swat and riot gear, and (famously) snipers positioned overlooking the crowd (see “p-david-polly-april25-2024-1.jpeg”).
These clips show the events as understood by police. Many aspects of coordination and communication happened off main radios. Clip “20240430-160232EDT-iupd-disp.mp3” reveals that police purposefully moved communication off of public channels as much as possible.

The Indiana Daily Student provided some of the most thorough coverage of the events. Archived selections of those webpages are available in the “web-archives” folder.
